This 2 day training consists of learning the physiological milestones of pregnancy and post-pregnancy and how yoga can be used as a tool of support. On Saturday, participants will learn what yoga tools are considered best practice for prenatal women, how to approach common discomforts, why certain postures and breath patterns are contraindicated, and how to create a well-rounded prenatal yoga practice. On Sunday, participants will learn how yoga can be a part of holistic postpartum care, how to reconnect to core and pelvic floor muscles, ways to incorporate baby in a postnatal yoga practice, and how to create a well-rounded postnatal yoga practice.
This training is held at Yoga Heights in Takoma from 11:30-6:30 on Saturday and Sunday (9/21-9/22) with an hour lunch break from 1:30-2:30. Participants can expect to practice yoga, work in partners, and do research within each training day.
Participants are invited to attend both days or one day of the training. This training is geared towards anyone interested in learning about yoga during and after pregnancy including but not limited to pregnant women, postpartum women, and yoga teachers.
